DESCRIPTION
On a trip to Alaska a few years ago, we were driving south from Denali on our way back to Anchorage when I took this picture. We were slightly disappointed when we were leaving Denali because the snow and bad weather had forced us to cancel our plans of hiking and camping which we had been eagerly anticipating. Either way, however, we were very impressed by Denali and were there in the perfect time for all of the fall colours.
As we were driving, I was on the lookout for photo ideas that would capture the colours and scenery, but nothing was standing out. Suddenly, in the distance, I saw the light of an approaching train along the track to our left. Hilary was driving and pulled over really quick and I fumbled around for my camera and a lens and was just able to capture the train and it rolled past us. With the low mist on the hills and the froot-loop bowl of colours, I think this photo captures what our adventure to Denali was like.
