DESCRIPTION
For some reason, the first thing that popped into my head when I tried to think of a name for this photo was Tequila Sunrise. By that point it was already too late and I couldn’t think of anything else, even though the name doesn’t even make sense. If anything, it should be Rum and Cigar Sunrise, but now I’m just completely sidetracked.
What I meant to say was, I took this photo one early morning as Hilary and I were walking to catch bus. We were heading to the small town of Vinales from Havana and decided that we had better be a few minutes early for the bus. If you know anything about Cuba, you know that this was completely unnnecessary. Busses are never on time in Cuba which meant that we ended up waiting almost an hour before our bus finally arrived.
Lucky for us though, leaving a little bit early to catch the bus that morning meant that we walked down this quiet little street past a really cool old car just as the strong Cuban sun was breaking over the horizon of the city. Maybe it’s not always a good idea to shoot directly into the sun but it made a fairly cool effect in this photo. Can you tell that Hilary is tired of waiting for me in this photo?
