DESCRIPTION
I hiked into Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park with a friend last summer to do some hiking and camping. Even though the main feature of the park is Mount Assiniboine, which you can see in the background, it was Sunburst Mountain that I couldn’t take my eyes off of.
On our first day in the park, we walked around the lake trails that are at the base of Sunburst. We were tired from the 26km hike into the park from the day before, but we decided to climb to the top of Sunburst shortly after I took this picture. It looks like a tough scramble, but there is a fairly easy route up the East side of the mountain (which is the left side in this picture).
