DESCRIPTION
Turtle Mountain, in the Crowsnest Pass, is famous for the Frank Slide. It’s also a common hike with a good trail from town all of the way to the top. It isn’t so known for its mountain biking, however, which is what we were doing there.
We decided to head to the top of Turtle with our mountain bikes to ride down as much of the trail as we could. It was quite a difficult hike to the top with the bikes, and the ride down wasn’t much easier with the steep sections and the loose rocks everywhere.
I brought my Phantom 4 quadcopter to do some filming and take some pictures, which is how I got this photo. The wind was so strong coming over the ridge, however, that there were times that I wasn’t completely confident that I was going to be able to fly my quadcopter back to the safety of the ridge.
