DESCRIPTION
During out last few weeks in New Zealand, we decided to head down to the south end of the country to do some final exploring and see a few places that we hadn’t quite gotten to yet during our 15 months in the country. One of the places that had been recommended to us was a small little town (if you can call a group of 4 houses a town) called Cosy Nook.
Now, the person who recommended this place to us was a coworker of mine from the bike shop that I worked at in Wanaka who had a bit of a sense of humour so his recommendation might have been more of a joke than a serious recommendation. He had described Cosy Nook as the “Hobbiton by the Sea” which is more than an overstatement. It’s actually just 4 or 5 tiny little shacks beside a small cove that is aptly named Mullet Bay.
While Cosy Nook itself was a bit disappointing and didn’t live up to its name or description in the least, there was a small little shed that we passed on our way out that was set against a hillside that was quite cool. I don’t want to point out the obvious here, but if you haven’t guessed already, the “small little shed” in question is the one in the picture.
