My initial idea when we decided that we were going to be visiting Kuala Lumpur was to take a photo of the famous Petronas Towers from high up in another building. I had seen a few photos taken this way that I really liked and one of the best spots to get this view is from Traders Tower. The only problem that I found out about getting into the top floors of Traders was that you needed to buy an expensive drink to get access, you weren’t allowed tripods, and you needed some fancy pants clothes to get in. This was the very last stop on our trip through South East Asia so I barely had clothes that didn’t smell, nevermind with a collar.

So I decided to pass on the photo from the tower and instead hunted around the grounds of KLCC for a good view of the towers. KLCC is actually the mall in the middle of the photo with the purple sign above it and outside of it is a big park with fountains, pools, benches, and paths to walk around.

Speaking of pools, do you see the small wading pool to the right of the photo. Earlier in the day as we were walking around, Hilary and I decided to walk down to the edge of the wading pool here. We were walking along minding our own business when a bunch of security guards started blowing their whisteles and yelling at us in Malay. It turned out that the pools were restricted for families who had young children, so we weren’t supposed to be there. What the heck is with that? With the crazy heat and humidity we were hot and bothered to begin with but this just made it even worse.
