DESCRIPTION
One of my favourite sites from Hanoi, Vietnam, was the Long Bien Bridge. It sits just outside of the Old Quarter and is easy walking distance from all of the other main sights in the city. The best part about the bridge is the train track that runs down the middle. It requires a bit of hopping, jumping and a few other dicey maneuvers to get to, and there is a pretty consequential fall if you miss your step, but it can make for a cool picture.
I was standing near the middle of Long Bien Bridge when I took this one. I was facing the other direction when I felt some rumbling and heard a train in the distance. I turned around and saw the red front of the engine approaching in the distance. It didn’t take much encouragement for me to hop back to the edge where I had come from and get out of its way.
