DESCRIPTION
When I think of Venice, I think about the old buildings, canals, cathedrals, gondolas, and the vivid colours. And somehow, I think this picture captures everything in one shot. Well, maybe not the gelato, but that deserves a picture all to itself anyways.
I have to admit, this photo was a bit of an accident. We were walking around exploring Venice one morning and were crossing a bridge over the Grand Canal and I stopped to take a quick photo without really thinking about it. It was only when I was flipping through the photos afterwards that I realized how awesome this photo was and how it completely captured the essence of Venice.
Probably my favourite (and also the most frustrating) thing about Venice is how it’s like one big maze. I can’t remember how many times we started heading down a street to come to a dead end, or figure out that we were going around in circles. The amount of narrow alleyways, canals and bridges is quite astounding and it seems like a city that was built to be confusing. It’s definitely the kind of place that has an endless amount of places to wander around and explore.
