DESCRIPTION

It’s not the first photo of lupins that I’ve posted ’round here, but I can just never get enough of these things. These ones are in the Lake Tekapo area of New Zealand where they are by far the best that I’ve ever seen. And if you haven’t noticed, I like to consider myself a bit of a lupin afficiando.

The lupins tend to be in full bloom around New Zealand during the last few months of the year. So from the end of November through December you can see fields full of the purple, pink, yellow, and white flowers. And while the lupins are nice and all, I find it a bit of a frustrating time to try to go on a road trip or get anywhere in the country because I always find myself pulling over everywhere that I can the take more photos of them or wader through the fields.

Oh, and the smell! Did I mention that smell like expensive hotel soap?
