DESCRIPTION
Around the beginning of December each year, Lupins are in full bloom throughout New Zealand. Even though they are a noxious weed, they bloom in incedible colours of purple, yellow, blue, pink, and green.
I took this picture on a weekend trip to Lake Tekapo around the beginning of Decemember and was amazed by the colourful displays everywhere we looked. I think Lupins might have become my new favourite noxious weed!
The building in the background is called the Church of the Good Shephard. It’s very small and has quite a long history, but you are able to enter it and take a look around. It might not be as old or impressive as churches in Europe, but the view over Lake Tekapo and the surrounding mountains can’t be beat. What it lacks in size and grandeur, it definitely makes it up with the scenery out of its windows.
