DESCRIPTION
For a country with as much coastline as Vietnam, we surprisingly spent a lot of time away from the coast. One of the times that we were on the coast, however, was in the northern part of Vietnam when we headed to Cat Ba Island. For a day trip, we headed out on a boat into Ha Long Bay which is filled with these limestone pillars.
Because Ha Long Bay is so busy, we learned that if you head to Cat Ba Island and stay there instead of Ha Long Bay itself, it can be a lot less expensive. This ended up being a great tip.
Our day in Ha Long Bay was filled with swimming, sight seeing, and a bit of kayaking.
