DESCRIPTION
Above the town of Gjogv in the Faroe Islands, there is a small walking trail. It leaves right from the edge of town and takes you along the edge of a farmer’s field where you get a great view back down into the small town, as well as out to the sea and back up the valley above town.
I spent one night in Gjogv on my trip to the Faroe’s and on the morning that I woke up, the sun was finally out and the rain and wind had miraculously subsided throughout the night. It was short-lived however, as the next day the rain started all over again. This ended up being pretty much the only day in the Faroes that I had sunny weather, but every moment of it was awesome and the way it hit the town and the green mountains rising from the sea was pretty spectacular.
I took this shot by setting up my tripod on the trail with my intervalometer set to take a picture every 5 seconds. Then I ran back down and climbed back up towards my camera. It’s probably not the most efficient way to climb a hill, but when you’re by yourself it’s the only way to get that picture that you want, so you have to do what you have to do!
