DESCRIPTION
Trinidad is a small town along the southern coast of Cuba, and was one of our last stops when Hilary and I visited the country. Lots of the buildings in the town are painted these bright colours.
We had just watched the sunset from a nearby church bell tower and we were wandering around the town as night fell when we came across this street.
It can be refreshing to travel in a place like Cuba where people live a bit more simply. Lots of people don’t have televisions, wifi, or vehicles so they spend a lot more time walking around the streets and visiting with neighbours.
With all of the people and movement in the shot I had to raise my ISO up, and open up my aperture as much as possible. At 1/30th of a second for a shutter speed, I was right on the edge for getting any motion blur but I was able to get away with it. It’s light like this when it’s a huge benefit to be familiar with the capabilities and settings on your camera.
