DESCRIPTION
Amsterdam is the first city that I’ve ever visited as a solo traveller. I was on my way to Morocco on my first ever trip by myself, and I had an 8 hour layover in Amsterdam. Instead of hanging around the airport, I decided to hop on a train and head into central Amsterdam. I was short on sleep after being awake for the entire transatlantic flight from Calgary, and arrived around 8:00 AM in the morning in Amsterdam, so I had essentially skipped an entire night’s worth of sleep, but I was excited to be in this crazy new place.
I spent the morning wandering around the streets and the maze of canals. Around lunch time I found somewhere to eat Dutch pancakes, which were somehow less exciting than I had expected them to be. The entire time I was rushing around trying to see as much as I could, so it was all mostly a blur, so I’m glad to have a few pictures to look back on to remember what it all looked like. It’s a place I’ll definitely return to one day.
