It took a while, but I’ve finally finished all of the trip reports from our 6 week trip through South East Asia, with the final one being Malaysia.

After travelling through Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, we stopped in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a few days to visit some family that lives there. It was a great stop and different than any of the other countries because they were able to show us a local side to the city that we wouldn’t have been able to see otherwise. We ate at places that we wouldn’t have found by ourselves, stayed in a quiet neighbourhood, and saw a bit of what it’s like to live in Kuala Lumpur.

Amongst the visiting, however, we were also able to fit in some sightseeing around the city. We spent our first full day exploring the old downtown of KL, then took the train to Batu Caves where we waited for the sun to set.

Our second day was spent at KLCC, at the foot of the Petronas Towers. We wandered around the malls and explored the gardens behind the towers. We then waited for the sun to set and took some photos from different places around the gardens.

It was a great trip, and even though we only spent a few days in the country and never left Kuala Lumpur, it gave us a small taste of the country which was all we need to want to go back soon.
