The FIX 02: Sunburst Mountain Reflection
Focus of Episode: Reflections and Basic Lightroom Edit
In this episode of The FIX, I show you the editing behind a shot that was posted as Photo of the Week on October 2nd, 2016 called Sunburst Mountain Reflection. I took the photo in the summer of 2015 on a hiking trip to Assiniboine National Park trip with my friend Ryan.
Assiniboine is definitely one of my favorite places in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. I’ve only been there once but it certainly left an impression and has me itching to go back. Although the feature mountain of the park is Assiniboine itself, which looks a lot like the Matterhorn of Switzerland, the mountain in the foreground of this photo is called Sunburst Mountain. I go into a bit more detail about our weekend in the park in the video.
The editing of the photo is very simple and is done solely in Lightroom. I start out with a basic edit to get the entire image looking roughly how I want it. And then I dig into the local adjustments to tweak small areas of the photo seperately. There is some work done with radial filters, graduated filters, and some brushing.
