I recently spent about one week in the Faroe Islands travelling by myself. My travels took me to the islands of Vagar, Streymoy, Eysturoy, Bordoy, Kalsoy, Kunoy, and Vidoy. That means that out of the total 18 islands that make up the Faroes, I did not bad, but I definitely left enough to warrant a return trip!
I was able to do some hiking which is one of the great activities that the Faroe Islands have to offer.
I felt like I was unlucky with the weather at some points throughout the trip and the visibility can be quickly hampered by low, thick fog that is common on the islands. It also can change very quickly! Regardless, however, the weather is part of what makes the experience on the Faroe Islands so different, and it’s all part of the adventure.
I have definitely left a lot of areas of the Faroe Islands left explored and I hope to one day make a return trip. I share my stories and photos of the trip in the trip report, so make sure the check out the full report by clicking the link below.
